Hotel St. Louis (Union Trust Building)
The history
Louis Sullivan's Union Trust Building, finished in 1893 at 705 Olive — one of the handful of Sullivan skyscrapers still standing, and the second he built in this city. Terra cotta ornament runs the full height; the bronze elevator doors and their arched floor dials are still in the lobby. A 1924 remodel stripped the original street-level arches and porthole windows. It stood empty for years before reopening in 2019 as Hotel St. Louis.

The Hotel Saint Louis is a hotel and historic building in St. Louis, Missouri. The building was designed by the firm Adler & Sullivan and was constructed from 1892 to 1893. The structure is listed as the Union Trust Company Building on the National Register of Historic Places and became a City Landmark in 1971.
