Arcade Building
The history
812 Olive Street — two buildings fused into one. The Wright Building went up in 1906; Tom P. Barnett added the sixteen-storey Arcade half in 1919 and hung Gothic terra cotta over the whole thing. Behind the front runs a 400-foot skylit shopping arcade, the only one of its kind west of Cleveland. It sat empty from 1978 until a 2015 restoration; the arcade is open again and you can walk it end to end.
